Madison is a happy, smiley, and content 2-year-old from Manchester, UK. She lives with her mum Daniella, dad David, and her older brother and sister. Like most toddlers, she enjoys watching Cocomelon, playing with her toys, and listening to music.
She loves cuddles with her parents and playing with her siblings. However, when she was approximately 6 weeks old her parents noticed she wasn’t responding to typical visual cues. They also began to notice difficulties with motor skills such as kicking her legs, head control and rolling. Madison has since been diagnosed with epilepsy and cortical visual impairment.
She is affected by seizures, high muscle tone, visual difficulties and difficulties with her movement. She has a gastrostomy tube to help with feeding and to deliver nutrition directly into her stomach. She is non-verbal (but that doesn’t mean she cannot communicate!). 
All of this can affect her ability to interact with the world and develop her skills. But with a little support from adaptive equipment, she can sit, stand, play and communicate more independently and effectively.
She has a variety of supportive seating to help her sitting activities through the day.

But standing can be very hard when you have weakness, high tone and visual impairment. Luckily, Madison has a new standing frame that helps her with upright play, weight-bearing and stretching – the Jenx Supine Stander!
Mum Daniella says that Madison had a different stander prior to this, but it did not meet her needs. Madison would lean forward and be unable to bring herself up, it was uncomfortable and very challenging to stand, and she would fatigue quickly. The Supine Stander has changed all that.
“Madison is now well supported and symmetrical when standing. She is comfortable, and the standing frame helps her to stretch her legs daily. She uses her arms more easily, and can play independently. Her head control is a little better and she can interact eye to eye with us”.

Like all the Supine supports, they can be easily adjusted via tool free methods to challenge and develop skill, or for growth. The tilt in space can be used easily via a foot pedal to increase Madison’s weightbearing, and use gravity to challenge her head control and upper body control further. It can also be used with gravity to allow her to relax a little more, resting against, and feeling safe in, the full body support of the stander.
