Why have Secret Santa when you can have your very own staff awards ceremony? It’s precisely what we did to round off 2024, with plenty of smiles and laughs to boot too.
On the last Friday before Christmas, we celebrated our Jenx and Jiraffe employees by holding our very first Jolly Jamboree Awards. As the name suggests, there was plenty of fun to be had as we shone a spotlight on so many brilliant members of staff for so many fabulous reasons.
Special recognition
A total of 11 awards were handed out for all sorts of wonderful reasons during the special event, which was made even more special by the fact the nominees were nominated and voted for by their peers.
“The awards were an excellent way for us to wrap up 2024 and celebrate our staff in style,” explains Amy Jenkins from our Charity and Events Committee.
“What was particularly great about them was the fact that we managed to cover such an interesting mix of awards, which ranged from your more standard titles, such as The Mentor Award and The Sunshine Award, to more light-hearted accolades, such as The Teapot Award. We had such fun coming up with the categories and even more fun presenting them to everybody.”
Our 2024 Jolly Jamboree winners were:

- Mel Butler – Always Caring Award
- Alison Hill – Always Supportive Award
- Rachel Davis – Always Encouraging Award
- Jamie Wingell –Sunshine Award
- Andi Beardshall – Teapot Award
- Peter Volrath – Rising Star Award
- Dan Holland – Mentor Award
- Kelly Wake – Innovative Improvements Award
- Scott Jones – Virtuous Volunteer Award
- Sue Underwood – Photo of the Year Award
All of the winners received a certificate, a chocolate treat and an extra drinks token for the post-awards drinks.
Master of Memes, Kieran Murphy stated:
“I am honoured to receive this award and I am hoping this is one step further to my knighthood. I’d rank this as the second greatest moment in my life. Obviously, it was such an incredible feeling to become a father and get married to my lovely wife, but these now rank 3rd and 4th behind this award and Man Utd winning the treble in ’99.” Kieran Murphy, Clinical Partnerships Manager.
Here’s what Always Encouraging Award winner Rachel had to say about her award:
“I was truly surprised and humbled to receive the “Always Encouraging Award” at the Jenx Jolly Jamboree event, especially knowing it was voted for by my incredible colleagues. I hold them all in the highest regard, so being recognised in this way was deeply meaningful. It means so much to me that our staff all feel happy, supported, and empowered to reach their potential within our community. The event itself was truly special, making the experience even more memorable.” Rachel Davis, Head of Marketing.
Andi, Teapot Award winner commented:
I’ve always been proud of my tea consumption record of 12 to 15 pints per day, and I strongly believe that a brew can fix anything!!! So, the first ‘job’ I spent time on when I started was getting the team’s brew order lodged in my brain! I am super chuffed to have an ACTUAL certificate to officially prove my love of a good brew! Thanks to all who voted for me – may your next cuppa bring you warmth and joy☕” Andi Beardshall, Customer Support Advisor.
Employee focus
