We are delighted to announce that Jenx has officially been awarded the ISO 14001:2015 for reaching an internationally agreed standard for the requirements for an environmental management system.
An environmental management system helps organisations identify, manage, monitor and control their environmental issues by looking at their activities as a whole, rather than as individual parts.
We put a great deal of care and thought into developing a system that would provide Jenx with a framework to follow in our quest to achieve a positive impact on the environment through our activities and performance.
We’re thrilled our efforts have been acknowledged with this globally recognised accreditation, the requirements of which were set out by 70 members of the Independent Organisation of Standardization (ISO) – with help from their nominated experts.
Our successful certification shows that we are a responsible organisation who understand the value of the environment and the importance of doing whatever we can to help preserve it for future generations.
Howard Johnson, our Quality and Health & Safety Compliance Manager, said: “The accreditation demonstrates Jenx’s consideration for all environmental issues in their operations, including air pollution, water and sewage issues, waste management, soil contamination, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and resource use and efficiency.
“Achieving the ISO 14001:2015 standard helps businesses to stand out from their marketplace competitors thanks to improved image and credibility. It also helps them to comply with legal requirements and to manage any potential environmental risks.
“Being environmentally conscious also means that Jenx are using resources in the most efficient way possible; meaning better cost control, reduced waste and recycling whenever possible.”
