Staff wellbeing was on everybody’s minds last month (February) when employees from across Jenx and Jiraffe were invited to take part in an entire Month of Wellbeing.
The event, which was open to all members of staff, was aimed at reinforcing our commitment to developing a culture centred around creating a positive staff experience.
Over the years, this vision has been turned into reality in numerous ways, which includes providing everybody with plenty of training and development opportunities, celebrating staff with internal awards and, most recently, holding our Month of Wellbeing.
“Employee wellbeing is incredibly important to us. So much so, we make sure we keep it at the forefront of our minds every day through our core values – Ethical, Passionate, Innovative, Caring and Collaborative.
“These five values are embedded into every element of the business, from our day-to-day processes, to the way we recognise and reward employees for their hard work,” explains Holly Jenkins, Managing Director of Jenx and Jiraffe.
“Employee welfare isn’t just about celebrating success, it’s also about taking care of people. Health, both mental and physical, is an extremely important part of everybody’s life.”
This year’s Month of Wellbeing involved the following activities, which were free for everybody to take part in:
- A Lego session
- 10-minute massages
- A food wellbeing session
- A dance session
- A games session
- A financial wellbeing talk
- Coffee mornings
- A Peak District walk
- Cake decorating
- A sleep wellbeing session
- A comedy night
Here’s what some of our employees had to say about this year’s events:
Jack Wilson, Design and Development Engineer (games session attendee):
“I’ve always loved playing football from a young age and it’s a great way to exercise. I sometimes find it difficult to find the time to get some exercise after work, so this was a good opportunity to have a run around. I like that it brought different departments together and that I could have a kick about with people I don’t normally see.”
Alisha Hood, Warehouse Team Leader (dance session attendee): “I wanted to experience something different; that would get
me out of my comfort zone. I also wanted to do something fun. I liked how open-minded the session was and how the instructor made us feel at ease.”
Rachel Davis, Head of Marketing (massage session attendee): “I rarely make time for myself and really want to prioritise my wellbeing
more this year! The session felt like a mini spa – calm, soothing, and rejuvenating. The experience left me feeling deeply relaxed and focused, and the aromatherapy from the oils was simply divine. It was a perfect blend of care and innovation, creating a space where I felt truly valued.”
