About the Presenter
Professor Iona Novak AM is the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Chair of Allied Health at The University of Sydney. She holds a PhD (2009) and Masters of Science (2006) from Western Sydney University, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from The University of Sydney (1993). She has co-authored more than 180 publications and been awarded over $60 million in competitive grant funding.
She has won the Elsass Foundation Research Prize, colloquially known as the Nobel Prize for Cerebral Palsy (2021) and Australia Day Councils’ local Woman of the Year award (2015). She spearheads a network that accelerates bench-to-bedside stem cell research, an initiative commenced through her Fulbright Scholarship (2013). The network conducted Australia’s first-ever human stem cell clinical trial for cerebral palsy.
Her research aims to discover, test and translate new treatments, in priority areas identified by people with cerebral palsy.

The demonstration will be held on Microsoft Teams, which can be accessed from any PC, laptop or smart phone with internet access. You do not need an Microsoft Teams account to access the demo.
